My last year at College I had a 3 hour night class once a week. About 4 weeks into the class I found he was giving a quiz at the beginning. I had always been about 10 minutes late as I could not get off work in time. I had felt the 10 minutes wouldn't be too much of a loss. After finding the quizzes were being given I made arrangements and was able to get to class at the start. We had an assignment working in pairs to do a presentation. I was paired with an individual who was the son of one of the professors best friends. I did virtually all the work on the presentation and we received an A.
I had gotten A's on my tests and felt good about the class. About a week before the end of the course I was called in and told I would not graduate as the professor was giving me a failing grade. I made an appointment with the professor and he said because I had missed 4 quizzes and he knew my partner had done all the work on the report he would fail me. I told him as soon as I knew of the quizzes I was able to talk to my employer and get off work a little early. ( He didn't grade or hand back the quizzes and I don't think he even reviewed them ) I told him I had done all the work on the report but he didn't believe me. He finally agreed to give me a D which would allow me to graduate. To me that D is still an A no matter what the school records show.
