I held out hope that MPAA wasn’t as stupid as the RIAA who continues to push a business model of suing their customers. It takes a lot to give the RIAA a run for it’s money in creating a business model that’s so far removed from actual customer wants and behavior that their only excuse must be a few too many puffs from the crack pipe.
But the LA Times is reporting that major movie studios plan to release movies for download the same time they are released on DVD. The catch? The MPAA expects to charge nearly double for this convenience and can only be played back on a computer and not your normal DVD player at least for now until they discover technology to poison it with more DRM than is available today.
