vista peeved me on my AMD 2600 w/ 2GB ram… so I went out and got a 3GB dual core intel MB… vista now officially rocks for me. ~$500 bucks in parts may seem like a lot – I think of it as an excuse to upgrade more. 🙂
I think MS should update the Vista “suggested” specs with your numbers above.
I tested early builds of Vista as well as the RTM version on my x2 4400+ dual core machine with 2 GB RAM and it ran OK but not nearly as fast as XP. I miss some of the features of Vista but I couldn’t handle the heavy handed DRM and numerous driver issues.
I’m not giving up on Vista though. Maybe around SP1 it will be ready for prime time. 🙂
